The Essence of “Dignity” That Moves Hearts.
Recently, I held the graduation ceremony for my Dignity and Impression Management course at a long-established kaiseki restaurant, a favorite of famous figures such as Yasunari Kawabata, Yujiro Ishihara, and Hibari Misora.
Although I hadn’t informed the restaurant of the nature of the gathering,
the waitress who attended to our room that day gave me the following words:
“Everyone’s posture was truly excellent, and their movements were incredibly beautiful. I felt I needed to emulate them.”
The demeanor of the students, which made even a professional at a first-class restaurant want to straighten their collars, was proof that each of them embodied the refined “dignity” they had cultivated.
It was the highest compliment that added color to the graduation ceremony. I believe that dignity is not merely a matter of spirit.
I believe that dignity is not merely a matter of spirit.
Based on correct knowledge, understanding the form, thoroughly refining the use of the body, and elevating the quality of expression to something more beautiful.
Just as a debutante in high society undergoes rigorous training to acquire the appearance befitting her status, a refined demeanor resonates more powerfully than words.
To all the students who have reached this milestone of completion, I offer my heartfelt best wishes for a bright future.
