ハワイとダニエル・k・イノウエ国際空港

義理の父が約60年前に
ハワイ大学に留学した時の写真を見つけましたので

アメリカのハワイ州へいってきました🍀

たくさんのサプライズな出逢いもあったり ハワイが大好きになりました✨

羽田空港✈️から約8時間のフライトで 約18時間の時差でした

去年の夏の世界大会では アメリカフロリダ州マイアミで開催されました

羽田空港からテキサス州ダラスで乗り換えを含め23時間という経験をしたので

ハワイはあっという間にホノルル国際空港に到着🛬

現在は

「ダニエル・k・イノウエ国際空港」に名称が変わっています

名称が変わった理由は

ハワイ州出身のダニエル・ケン・イノウエ（Daniel Ken Inouye、日本名：井上 建〈いのうえ けん〉は
アメリカ議会で初の日系人議員となり多大な功績偉業を務められたそうで
功績を称えるため2017年に名称が「ダニエル・k・イノウエ国際空港」に改名されたそうです

私は 更に ハワイ州の歴史を勉強したくなりました

歴史を学ぶ意義は 先人たちが経験した困難やその克服方法を知ることで

現代社会の課題に対する解決策の参考になります

またハワイにきますね！

“Hawaii and Daniel K. Inouye International Airport”

I found some photos my father-in-law took when he studied abroad at the University of Hawaii about 60 years ago, so I decided to visit Hawaii, USA.

I had many wonderful, unexpected encounters and fell in love with Hawaii.

It was an approximately 8-hour flight from Haneda Airport, with a time difference of about 18 hours.

Last summer, I attended a world championship held in Miami, Florida.

Having experienced a 23-hour journey from Haneda that included a layover in Dallas, Texas,
the trip to Honolulu International Airport felt like it was over in a flash.

It is now known as “Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.”

The reason for the name change is that Daniel Ken Inouye—a native of Hawaii—became the first person of Japanese descent to serve in the U.S. Congress and achieved great things; the airport was renamed “Daniel K. Inouye International Airport” in 2017 to honor his contributions.

It made me want to learn even more about the history of Hawaii.

The value of studying history lies in understanding the hardships our predecessors faced and how they overcame them, which offers insights into solving the challenges of modern society.

I’ll definitely be back in Hawaii!
