風の丘阿蘇大野勝彦美術館へ

熊本、阿蘇に大野勝彦さんの
「風の丘阿蘇大野勝彦美術館美術館」へ行ってまいりました

大野勝彦さんは45歳の時に
農作業中の機械事故で両手を切断したため、手がありません。

「死か、手を切って助かるか」の選択を迫られ、子供の顔を思い浮かべ、「死なれん」と自分の意思で腕を引きちぎるという壮絶な体験をされ、この経験から「湧き出る生」への思いを詩や水墨画で表現するようになられました。

ご本人にお会いしましたが、とても穏やかで、温かく、「生きていられること、人への感謝」を持って生きていらっしゃることがひしひしと伝わってきて、私も心が洗われました。

作品を見ているうちに、感動で涙が溢れ出ました。

“Visiting the Windy Hill Aso Katsuhiko Ohno Art Museum”

I visited Katsuhiko Ohno’s “Windy Hill Aso Katsuhiko Ohno Art Museum” in Aso, Kumamoto.

Katsuhiko Ohno lost both his hands at the age of 45 after a machinery accident while working on a farm.

Faced with the choice between death or survival, he pictured his children’s faces and, determined not to die, tore off his arms of his own accord. This horrific experience led him to express his “welling spirit of life” through poetry and ink paintings.

I met him in person, and his gentle, warm demeanor and deep gratitude for being alive and for others truly touched my heart.

Looking at his works, I was moved to tears.
